Classes I Teach

Over the years, I have taught many different classes and I look forward to developing and teaching more classes in the future.  Also, I plan on sharing my knowledge here on this website.  Here are the courses I am currently teaching at SCF:

Computer Hardware Repair and Maintenance – This course is designed to prepare students for the CompTIA A+ certification.  Students learn how to build a computer, learn about hardware, software and networking, as well as how to troubleshoot computer issues.  This class is designed around hands on, practical labs that prepare students for a career in information technology.

Introduction to Information Systems – This course is designed to introduce students to the world of information technology.  Students learn about the various components that make up a computer, as well as the hardware, software and devices that make a computer functional.  Also, students are introduced to the main applications in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) that a majority of companies use.

Integrated Business Application Software – This course is a continuation of Introduction to Information Systems.  Students gain an in-depth look at Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to make these applications bend to their will.  Students learn how to make a reference page, table of contents, table of figures, insert hyperlinks, design PivotTables and PivotCharts, conduct advance searches and much more.

Introduction to Systems Analysis and Design – This course is designed to prepare students in developing and implementing information systems within an organization.  Students learn about the 4 phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).  During the course, students develop a system proposal and by the end they have developed a comprehensive systems development plan.
